Book Titles: I laughed into mine

Book Title

At some point during the third or fourth revision I was searching the internet for music, just trying to relax an overstimulated mind and maybe find some inspiration. I was listening to Beatles songs that are somewhat rare, like demos and outtakes. I heard the book title in an interview with John Lennon and Paul McCartney, where the interviewer was asking them questions about youth culture, and what, if any good they thought they could bring to the youth of their era.

Many people try to be conscious about what’s important, and what, if any good they might do. We all think too much, and wouldn’t it be a lovely world if we could all settle our heads with more music and humor, and other good things. The original, working title for this book was ‘Stellar Gas’.

You can find the entire, very much worth the listen Lennon and McCartney interview on Youtube

This is an excerpt:

Interviewer: Let’s stick to the young people, and to the areas that you think are most fruitful to try to help in. I mean, again, I asked before where you thought young people were going and you said maybe there’ll be a reaction to what they have now. How does this relate to the real world, as you see it, to issues of war and peace and family and country?
John Lennon: All issues are relative. So it relates like that. It’s all just relative to each other. War… and vegetables… It’s all just relative, you know. So there’s relativity and absolute, and that’s how it relates.
Paul McCartney: That’s great Johnny.
Interviewer: That’s kind of hard though, for some people, to interpret you.
John Lennon: Well, if they can’t interpret it, maybe they will later, or come to their own conclusions, but that’s the way I think it is.

Nanowrimo: Feel the burn, feel it! Gimme 30,000 more! (I can feel it)

So far it’s 19541 words

I really can feel it.It burns in a good way. Today taking some notes I came up with some directions that are going to give me the kind of distance I want to have.  Then I read this pap talk from Jeff Vandermeer, and that really eased any concerns I was having. I do some of the things he is suggesting, and i will go ahead and try some of the things I have never done.

In yesterday’s session we got into some really cool metrics on how to raise funds for a regional food system. Tackling a subject like this in a fiction novel is fun for me, because it gives life to ideas in a couple of different ways. Ways that I have seen with my eyes while dong different grass-roots things, and ways I would like to see, best case scenario.

In my mythology, Lentils represent possibility and optimism. Lentilism. ☮

Nanowrimo: When the story changes direction and minor characters play big roles

15128 words so far

There are minor characters, in terms of the relatively small amount of time they get from you, who play important roles in the story. This is what I am learning as I get into week two of nanowrimo. These characters set up the main characters in ways that support them, and the story.

How do you handle pretentious, political activists in real life when your motivations are not political? How about Federal informants and operatives who create problems when they can’t find any, just to bolster their careers and justify their budgets? Never mind the bailouts, what about the way no matter how small a community is, there are always the talentless who get special treatment just because they are connected?

The real world is shitty, even in a fiction novel.

The Rending of the Veil

It’s not romantic.

Heading headlong into the teeth of this anticivilization at a time of apparent increasing rending of the veil.

It’s not like a mission, or a “calling” but all too often the feeling that one’s own mysticism and hope emerges to crush what is…

What is, is, after all.

So many peers, mentors and studies have packed away. They have “prepared”.

It’s the starkness of “alone” that draws the romance.

Again, we are stalwarts, we are the first immortals.

We do in fact have one another, we are not alone, physics won’t allow it, despite the delusion of “the collective” and the projection of “the one.”

There is the Universe in each cell; there is a sun alive in each snowflake at midnight.

Television, the local newspapers, lofting lazy, slow, turgid turd zeppelins at the twinkie addicted cabbage patch faces overwhelmed by the illusion of depth, awestruck by the spectacle.

Simultaneously, vast numbers divorce themselves from belief. They don’t necessarily know what’s real, but for certain they know what is -not-

Pulling, peeling, wrestling their barnacle selves from the ship, the battlestar, like small children discovering themselves again; rediscovering lost recesses long since thrashed, beaten and bruised by Public School; conformity, ostracization; Church; Television; Drugs.

The Pineal hood winked shut, blinks for the first time since vaccination; Fluoridation. Calcification reverses, it’s the veil, it rends, the divide widens, it’s not personal, certainly not political, hence the new Police State.

what the pineal glad really looks like.

what is

Waking up is never good for those who rule the sleep.

You took a nap after your energy drink, your bag of chips and cheesewiz, of course you did… the long slow infestation of cancer needs a moment. Not even that coca-cola can help you now.

We do love you, be clear about that, just because we do not wait for you to love yourselves before we make our moves does not mean you are not loved. We call to you, you hear it, you don’t know what it is. You fell open, it landed there, you threw it out the moving window with your MacDonald’s garbage.

Another may come along, you never know… I suppose.

Karma falls like a Light Brigade as long stretches of decompression integrate with post-deconstruction.

Deconstruct the language; subtract the inane politics and conjecture.

Nuggets of decompression filter their way down through the compost-peat culture…

Form the first sentence of your -LIFE-

I faced the hill and made my claim, my declaration; my command.

-So here is the point: Be a net Gain-

Anticivilization defines wealth as the accumulation of currency with the least possible effort.

“Something for nothing!” is the call of the Oprah rich, from behind the screen; the bubble, pin pop-ready; the screen, the appliance, applied to the smooth brain couch grooves.

“Because I didn’t ask to be born!” is the response from the other end of the plug, from the couch, from the waiting room, from the living room. The smell of French fries waft universally.

Creates nothing; vacuous realms; nothing real.

Real value is the creation and production of the most possible, using the least possible resource.

Exponential returns.

The chair caners; the recyclers; the small farmers; the hunters; the gatherers; the fishermen; the weavers; the wheelwrights. Much using little, not little using much. Not stimulation over edification. Real capital instead; value instead; Honesty instead.

“You have to create something”

These five words can save your life.

“I have to create something”

The truth that rings your heart like the bell.

“I have to create something”

Here is your Mantra, winking hoods.

“I have to create something”

No money down

Eyes, ears, wits; experience accumulated for that sky of cold suns at night, for the soft place, for a cache of hot and clean.

A summer for a firepit, all the chamomile and nettle with morning dew for a dry sump.

And the hill to boot; to shoe; to ski; to gather; for sweets, for medicine for the alter, sans altar.

The deepest honed arrow can’t provide this. Create something.

They call: “Something for nothing!”

Our response: “Something FROM nothing!”

Hands; eyes; mete; analyze, diagnose prescribe and implement; detail; finish.

It is value exchange; it is not a sentence, a deal, a plea; a desperation.

We don’t walk away from this.

We gather wind.

Weave the cloak

Manifest the mist

And again, the gem, the gorgeous gem Superior where I buried my face

In the roots

Into the banks

Where I left my salt

Where I recognized home

Who she is

Where I am

My future of breath

To hold this magic

Volitional Living Consciousness

Never for granted

Only ever grateful

Grandfather plucked from his place, like a feather.

Grandson lands… and leaves, softly, for the Net Gain.

Net Gain: That’s the point. Leave more than you took, you have that magic you neo-cortex. Rise to meet the beasts.

We sing across the divide, like waning whales across a sea. We call, we sing, we spin and dive and splash, it is in slow motion.

It’s there, on their sonar.

It sounds vaguely familiar; they do not recognize the song, barely the voice.

Their heart fell out, they picked it up, embalmed it with religion; with hope; sold it.

They hear us sing, they can’t place the sound, it’s on the tips of their tongues.

Christians kill with doctrine instead of simply following Jesus’ instructions

“For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? do not even the publicans do the same? And if you salute your brothers only, what do you more than others? do not even the publicans think they are special?” -Jesus

(Publicans were the ultimate hated people in Jewish culture at that time, because the only job they could get was collecting taxes for the Romans, who were afraid to enter the militantly independent Jewish communities. Publicans were just despised for being traitors and sellouts. Publicans did not create or provide any value, all they did was take from their people and give it to the Govt.)

In the  Sermon on the Mount,  Jesus gave very clear instructions. And they are unconditional instructions, toward unconditional love. They are instructions, and it is brilliantly and obviously simple. Very often, in fact most of the time, people create and fabricate all sorts of excuses; Platonist “forms” (LINK), what they call “doctrines” in order to justify not following the instructions; the very simple instructions. When people do not feel comfortable, they create -excuses-, or -doctrines- to justify keeping god’s blessings to themselves and excluding other people because they live in fear and are frankly, just plain greedy. Your Doctrines are excuses to not follow the instructions.

Jesus did not -ever- say anything remotely like “Feed the hungry, if they convert to that religion and doctrine you created”. Or, “Give drink to the thirsty if they get baptized, or let you have their resources.”  There are no ifs ands or buts about it. People who think they are supposed to get involved in all the little details are deluding themselves into playing god. Follow the instructions, that is the role. People who get into all the little details about doctrine, and look for any excuse they can find in some other part of scriptures to -justify not following the instructions- are playing god. But guess what, they are not kidding anyone. They live in fear.

If you do a word study for the Sermon on the Mount, go ahead and look at the word “if”.  Jesus uses the word not to justify conditions to make  someone comfortable, but to strengthen the instructions. In other words,  you do not use the word “if”, to determine your obedience to the  instructions, you use if to reinforce them. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Follow the instructions, all the details will work themselves out.. That is why Jesus said in this sermon “Judge not”;  Essentially, “you ain’t that smart”. That is why Jesus was so down on the Pharisees who he also mentioned in the Sermon. All through the New Testament Jesus just lambasted the Pharisees because they would petition the power (implicit violence and coercion) of the Roman Government to enforce their piety in the Jewish Community. Similar to the way some Christian factions today try to use the power (implicit violence and coercion) of the US Government to force others into paying for things they may not believe in, to enforce lifestyles, or make judgement calls on other people they know very little about in order to justify untoward policy, exclusion, or prejudice. Both the right wing and left wing Christians get into this Pharisaic practice in different ways. The Founders of the US were so smart for not allowing the establishment of any one religion so it could dominate the others… so smart.

right out fucking loud, you're a dog

“Unless your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -Jesus

Jesus seems to always speak to the “I”, never to the “we”. The titles of the sections are such as “Jesus spoke to the Multitudes”, but when he spoke, he spoke to the individual, because he wanted people to take individual responsibility for their actions. This is another reason doctrines are dangerous, because they get people into groupthink, which, because of our flawed nature becomes “us vs. them”, and it becomes an “external authority”, not the authority of your heart, your “I-ness” that Jesus speaks to.

Groupthink creates a lazy atmosphere, where people can defer their responsibility to the “greater good” determined by the tricksters. That is why Pharisaic groups get so much power, because they create Platonist “ideals” or “forms” (different Plato link) they are able to convince the people they have tricked into following them to conform to. These ideals and forms are -not real- and do not reflect  -what is-  in objective reality. These forms and ideals are  only imaginations from the minds of people who use religion and politics to control others. The right wing christans want to control everyone’s body.. which is -really- bizarre, how the HECK did they come up with that?.. and the left wing christians think somehow the government is going to magically begin doing the work Jesus instructed for the Church. Each of these factions are OUT OF THEIR MINDS in delusions. They have an imagination that is not matched by the reality of the Planet we live on or human nature. -CRAZY-. It is NOT the role of government to do the work of the Church, and it is also not to judge people’s lives or control their bodies. If the people who think they are supposed to spend their time getting the govts. to do god’s work just went out and obeyed Jesus there would not be any more hungry, thirsty, etc.. Bad priorities, bad individual choices. Some people never learn.

That is why Jesus’ instructions are so simple, because you do not know what you do not know, but you do know when someone is hungry, thirsty, sick, hard working, honest, etc.. Things you can see are what they are, and you do not know what you do not know, so just follow the instructions and quit trying to think you can manage the details.. follow instructions and judge not, because you ain’t that smart.  Your doctrines are excuses to not follow instructions, and that’s just you being scared. Let the details you are so worried about work themselves out. Jesus also spoke about your worry.

“Take therefore no thought for the next day: for the next day shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” -Jesus

It is not a part of the instructions to worry about the details of other people’s lives, or what they do with their money or whatever else. Your business is to follow the instructions, love unconditionally, and don’t worry about the details, mind your own business. All you can see is what is on your radar screen, and your technology is limited to your own event horizon. Mind your own business. You simply do not know what you do not know. Focus on the immense value that -you- provide. You have no control over what others think, and you have -zero- to do with it. When you are conscious, one of your thoughts is infinitely more powerful than others as those thoughts relate to you, and vice-versa. Other people are going to have their own thoughts. When you make a judgment call that takes you outside the realm of unconditional love, well.. that is your fear, you’re scared, don’t inflict your fear on the lives of others because you can’t handle not being in control. You are not in control of anything but you.. so quit kidding yourself and get out of the way of the universe. This thing is happening with or without your blessing.

On a personal note, I do not define myself as a Christian, because what I think is not in line with Western Doctrinal Christianity. This being said, I love Jesus. I am grateful for his life and his work. I may not believe all the “right”  things, or the “Fundamentals” as people call them, but I also do not want to think about what my life would be like without that ability to have thoughts, and to recognize my heart, or “I-ness”, my consciousness, and the utter responsibility  that comes with it.

From what I can tell, Jesus was all about that.

We fought for you until you woke up

This is a dream you had, and then it came true

We were in the same position you were in, and then we were telling you just like someone told us, that’s all. You knew the truth, and you slowly internalized it. Then, you heard it one more time and you acted on it. It’s never easy for anyone to admit being hoodwinked their whole life. We were ready for you, and since we were not partisan and political, we never said “I told you so”, because you were the next link in the chain to break free. Everyone was looking forward to your efforts and we were not going to ruin that by being spiteful and arrogant. Someone told us once, too. Then we told you.

The work you did was amazing, and it helped change everything and they thanked you for telling them, and for doing what you did to wake them up.

your beautiful, awkward epiphany.

i'm glad you had a good time at the mall.... but.

they thanked you for telling them and doing what you did to wake them up

Yesterdays post about Black Friday

Black Friday is for Stupid People who Suck

Oh my gosh, how awful. I have not watched the news today but I wonder how many people got trampled. What a lot of embarrassing weirdness about our “culture”.

They are not relevant until they wait in line overnight to buy shit they don’t need, with borrowed fake money that they don’t really have, from some offshore private bank, owned by people who have utter contempt for us. Then, the day after the day they are supposed to be thankful for Family, they abandon them to buy them garbage, so all they can afford to feed them is genetically mutated food. America, you are a giant clown in space

Shop till you drop, or till you drop someone else.

What if our lives were about something really good instead?

Americans used to -make things- and disseminate them all over the world through business, and I’m not talking about weapons. The nature of Human life is to create.

Do you realize Santa hates you if you don’t conform?Santa hates you and he's a fat bastardHe took a really cool season, with all kinds of cool stories, and turned it into an expensive fiasco that helps prop up the lying media and the war machine.

Hanging around the house with Family all day telling cool stories with really great values should be enough. How wonderful. That sounds really lovely.

Writing Vignettes: The Crust

a purpled ou aurora borealis

The outer edge of the Aurora Borealis is extending directly over head. There is cloud cover preventing it from being seen directly. The cloud cover looks like a crust. Like we are in a massive pinkish purple cave, or.. that we are at the center of the Earth, prized of the hoax that has held us here, making our way from our deception:

They were told their whole lives that the innards of their Planet was the totality of existence. Of course there were the fantasies and fairy tales. Now they leave those pacifiers behind. They had finally broken the code and spread the solution to the equation, with great stealth, throughout the colony. They achieved great expertise in their duties, and created efficient systems which allowed their rulers to leave them to their own devices. It was then that the maps were disseminated. It is today that they make their way to the surface, leaving the production of goods to itself, leaving their rulers to their sleeping bellies, and leaving the caves… forever.

Those who left first finally reached the horizon. Nervously, passionately, fervently… they dug their tools… into the crust.

—–

Vignettes are those little stories that are usually written very quickly. They can be spur of the moment because they are something you threw down on your pad when you did not want to lose the concept. They can be used as part of a treatment for describing a novel or movie… you know, the back of the paperback, where it gives you a synopsis and a teaser all in one? They are very often used as part of a treatment in a pitch. They are essentially a story within a premise.

The High School of Life

Larry had a dirty mind, a beautiful dirty mind

Larry had a dirty mind and a good brain

Larry Fisher. Larry Fisher was a Chef at a restaurant where I worked. Larry familiarized me with a concept about life, which as far as I know, he initiated. “The High School of Life”. “It’s the High School of Life Rob”.

Larry asked everyone, every day, several times a day, whether there was life after High School. I think Larry was convinced that life indeed ended after High School, and that everything after High School was some kind of transcended, or possibly distended extension of High School. Poor thing. Larry was easily one of the funniest and smartest people I knew up to that point, and without a doubt one of the most memorable since. After all I am writing about him 25 years later, and he is the only person whose actual name I am using in this essay (Get it? essay.. High School.. Ok). He was matriculating his High School career with grace and humor. I was at that Restaurant right after I had pretty much put the cap on my baseball efforts. This thing about Larry could go on longer, but some things are not for the Public Way.

When I was a kid the only thing I ever thought about doing when I grew up is baseball. I was weird for baseball. I had rituals and routines and habits and drills and all that. 1000 swings at imaginary baseballs every single day, wrist rollers, hand-eye coordination exercises, just every single device and technique I could learn. Listening to the creepy, nosy lady next-door complain about me minding my own business in my Dad’s back yard swinging my baseball bat over and over and over. “He’ll be out there all day long swinging that stupid baseball bat”. I could not imagine how cool it would be to actually, one day, get a paycheck for doing this thing I got lost in every chance I could. That all changed when I reached the point when I was actually playing 9 inning games, 5 or 6 days per week. I was not getting paid, not yet, but I was playing as much baseball as some guys who were getting paid, and some of the players on my team and on opposing teams were getting paychecks, they had contracts.

It was one of those rare moments in life where you are climbing a rock face, you are all by yourself, you can see the sweat dripping off your arms, and you are pulling your eye level to that point where you can just barely see over the peak of that rock at the very top and kind of get a feel for what a future on the other side of that will look like and what it will feel like to set the next set of goals. There are two things about playing 9 innings of baseball, every single day when you are in your early 20’s. 1. It’s really, seriously, very difficult even when you are young, especially when you have a day job. 2. You realize that you are looking down a road in life that you’ve always thought you wanted to take, just as you are also that point in your life where so many other things in life are opening up to you.

Here’s the thing about my situation. I was an unsigned player. I never got paid, I was not quite good enough, according to the business offices, to get paid. I was however, good enough to pay with paid players on certain types of teams. Basically, I was recognized, or “approved”. Today, the common term for a guy like this is “unsigned free-agent”. I was respected enough that the teams could trust their players with me. They knew I was not going to get them hurt, and that I was not going to make mistakes. Just the insurance on even a low-level minor leaguer or something is an investment. It’s money, it’s business. They have strict rules about anything having to do with your safety.

there is nothing in life except baseball

weird for baseball

That’s really important, there is a big difference between mistakes and errors. Everyone makes errors. You boot it, or some part of your body has a memory lapse and the ball slips out of your hand, or just some other thing happens that is the result of a physical malfunction. But not everyone makes mistakes. I never made mistakes. A mistake is when you do the wrong thing, and when you do the wrong thing, that’s when people are at risk. If another player is expecting you to do the task that is expected in a given situation, and it is the correct task, and it is what is expected by everyone out there, and then you do something else, people may not be ready to adjust, and that is when crazy stuff happens.

It also costs more games than errors. For sure, 100%. Doing the wrong thing the right way, is 100% worse than doing the right thing the wrong way. It is possible to look really beautiful and athletic and artistic while doing the wrong thing and costing a run or costing a game. It is also possible to look ridiculous while doing the right thing the wrong way. The latter is far more acceptable. It’s better to look stupid doing the right thing wrong, than to look brilliant doing the wrong thing right. I never made mistakes, I rarely made errors, and I had the tools. I just did not have the grind in me to be able to play 9 innings a game, every day.

By the end of games I would be thinking about other things, and wondering what other things I could be doing, and if I might be missing something in life by being on a ball field all the time. When you have thoughts like that, it’s time to make a decision.

I was out there pretty much by myself. I had a cool boss who understood my schedule needs, yes of course I had a day job, and some of the guys I played with didn’t because they had contracts. It was a difficult and very competitive situation and it was more than I could do alone. When you see those ballplayers on TV talking about their families and how they could not have done it without them, it’s the truth. You can’t make it out there on your own. It’s nothing personal, but it’s basically your tough luck if you don’t have a support network like a family.

Well, what in the world is the point, and what does this have to do with the “High School of Life”? Lots, it has a lot to do with it because it reminds me of “the talk”. Basically, you have to be good enough. “The talk” is what you get when you meet a scout who is going to introduce to you to the game; to the Association, which are terms used for the MLB.

“It’s not because somebody knows somebody or because you can afford it, or because someone from the Lodge made a phone call, or gave some sorry excuse for a Coach 50$ to play you, it’s because you’re good enough to be here, and the moment you are not good enough to be here, you are not going to be here.” This is the Private Sector, it’s not the Public High School where some tenured, bitter loser is making decisions, you need to make sure that every single time you get off the field with those people, you forget everything they tell you and remember everything you know.” You’re a ballplayer, and they are working in the Public Sector because they are not good enough to be around guys like you.” They wanted to be you but they couldn’t hack it. “You have to remember to forget everything they tell you, and remember to remember who you are and what we tell you.”

That is the talk. That is the talk I got. There are variations of the talk, for different situations, but essentially, that’s it in a nutshell. It’s a business talk. It’s a Private Sector vs. Public Sector talk.

Aaaaand it’s true. That is why Larry Fisher was so smart, because he knew. He knew that some people graduated and some people didn’t. Some people are actually capable and competent, and some people are dependent and political. It’s true. I can tell you with complete confidence that the guys playing in the show are all there because they are good enough to be there. It is super hard to get to where they are. If there were better players, they would be there. That’s why scouts go all over the Planet, looking for the best players from almost every continent. Because it’s a BUSINESS, it is money and resources. They invest so much money and they are not going to waste it being political or picking favorites or being racist, or whatever, they’re just not.

“If you can play, we’ll find you.”

I am doing a blog post per day all month, hopefully. Inspired by NaPoBloMo. This will be a good motivation for me to format some more ebooks. This is post #16

David Frum is Slow: Why Romney Lost

It’s ridiculous that anyone ever thought Romney was going to win that election. Who do these people listen to? I am not a Democrat or a Republican, and maybe that is why it is obvious to me that the Republican ship has sailed. It’s over, visit the Republican Party at the Hospice Center. David Frum is trying to help everyone figure out why Romney lost with an eBook, and he is trying to save the Republican Party. There are people who want to perform CPR on this thing, but it’s really not part of the plan. It’s not necessary any more. The political class no longer needs the distraction of a two-party system. They have implemented all sorts of new controls, and the right wing, and the drug warriors are getting everything they need from Obama. He has deported more immigrants than any other President -ever-, twice what Bush did. He has also done more raids on legal marijuana, completely disrespecting local law. Just click that link back there and read for yourself.

So here’s the deal David Frum. When those sexless ghouls in your Republican party talked about rape as being of the Lord, and that there is some kind of magic birth control in cases of violence against Women, and when they talked about allowing employers to demand invasive procedures on their female employees, there were people in the Democratic Party who were stupid enough to actually think that the laws those anomalous time warp freaks wanted to pass had a chance to see the light of day. When you couple that with the people in your Party who actually think so, and the females in your Party who are frightened to death of their men, -THEN- add to that the fact that the Leadership of the Democratic Party have absolutely -zero- conscience in regard to exploiting fear… well… that is just one issue where the mind of the There are two classes in the United States, the political class and the rest of usaverage American is under utter control. And it works the same way on a whole range of issues.

Remember the 80’s, when the Evangelical Christians thought Reagan was a man of God who infiltrated the White House to do the Lords work and then corporatized the food industry, killing the small farms and the businesses that go with it? Then how he turned the other way when a bunch of Salvadorean military men, aligned with the US in Central America raped and murdered those American Catholic Nuns in El Salvador? Well, there is a whole new crop of New Agey types who think Obama is some kind of “lightworker” or unifier, even as he has ordered 308 drone strikes, 5 times more than Bush and continues to strain relationships with Countries who have nuclear weapons, in that and other ways.

Your Party is not necessary any more David.

But tell me the truth Dave? you already know all this right? I am just a schmuck-ass working guy from a blue collar background and I can see this. I have been saying for two years that two terms is a lock for Obama. I know you have to know -at least- what I know.

So yes, here is -my- ebook, my lousy 0.99 ebook that has all sorts of stuff that you David Frum seem to have overlooked. And I’m sorry to tell you that it does not have any recipes; it does not have any recipes for reviving the Republican Party, for making sure you pundits get to be on TV fighting over things the govt. should not have any business being involved in at all, in the first place.  Because as for me, I am glad that the grave for the Republican Party has been dug, because now we are just in time to dig the next one for the Democratic Party. It’s one down, one to go Dave. Get hip, click the picture for my rag.

I wrote this SIX years ago Dave. Damn you’re slow.

Plato’s Republic: Treatise of paid-off phony intellectual bottom feeders

Plato is wrong about probably everything

What a bad meme to spread! Plato had a lot of things wrong. Who would cast a spell like this? What’s his interest in maintaining the ostracism of honest people?

How about this instead?:

“Those who are able to see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture are honest, valuable people who lay the foundation for the New Civilization”

That makes more sense to me. Spread -that- meme around so it takes hold, what the hell were people thinking back then? how could they do this to us?

That is a better meme to lay down for Western Civilization, instead of the “forms” and the “ideals” that Plato used to provide talentless bureaucracies the tools they use to control us to this day. Plato was the first paid-off phony intellectual.

In many cultures, before the West did this thing it is doing, people who see things more clearly are not cast-aways who are considered weirdos, they are special people who are heard in order to see things from different perspectives. They are Shaman, healers, and clarions. Sometimes they are even chosen to become Chiefs and leaders. At the very least, their input is integrated into the whole, and considered valuable.

Plato’s Republic is the foundation in the West for Bureaucratic Authoritarianism. It is the start of ostracizing realism and the root of discontent and alienation. The Republic separates people from themselves and their communities, and implores a dependence on external constructs that are usually foisted via violence by people who do not provide any work or innovation to the equation.

Another option for this photo might be:The REpublic, By Plato

“Those who are able to see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture will never be understood, let alone believed, by the masses. And don’t worry talentless bureaucrats who make your living fleecing hard-working, valuable people. I’m writing a book called “The Republic” and it will ensure easy living for your ilk for at least a couple of millenia.”

Plato knew who doled out the free tax dollars. So like the economists and pundits of today, writing treatises that justify that system is good job security. Never mind innovation or solutions, unless of course they are exploited to continue to support the talentless political class and their flack machine.  And writing them in a language that is understandable by the people who have a certain level of education, but who are not inclined to critical thinking or original thought is a special talent. That malleable majority of the population is crucial to the maintenance of easy living for the political class and its tentacles.

At some point you have to ask yourself for honesty with yourself. Just ask yourself three questions before you lie down to sleep. Don’t be scared. Just ask: “Can I be honest with myself? Then ask: Am I doing anything to change things, really?, or am I just maintaining a broken cart that is ultimately doing more damage and harm than good?” Then: “At this point wouldn’t it be a net gain if we just started over?”

Yes Virginia, Hotels are Haunted

black moving gif image for placeholder kindleThere is a Hotel near me in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that is haunted, for sure. I lived there for two Winters and I had visitors like crazy. The room I stayed in the 2nd Winter  had a friendly ghost. He used to mess with me. At first I think he was trying to get to me because I always felt weird fear when he was around. Then I grabbed a chair, sat down in front of the corner I could feel him in and just told him “Look, I’m only here for the Winter, I do not have an issue with you being here and I do not mean any harm at all. As long as you are cool with me I will be cool with you.” Then I said  ”if there is anything I can do to help you I will do it, if you can figure out a way to tell me.” I told him, “You have a lot more options than I do right now, If I could walk through a wall, or travel like you I would be way gone, so just be cool OK?”

He was not there all the time, but I always knew when he was there, because he would bump through the walls and knock stuff around. I would come home from where I worked and I would immediately know if I was going to be alone that evening.

One time I asked him how he died, or what happened, why he is here.. etc. Later when I was cooking dinner in the downstairs part of the is killer huge Hotel room, I heard a thud upstairs in the sleeping loft, which is like a pretty good sized bedroom. I had just been up there drying off and getting dressed after my shower, which was my daily routine. I always light a candle after a shower, I’m kind of a big girly man that way. It is comforting. Then I put the candle out before I go down to cook dinner. When I went up there after the “thud”, my giant three-wick candle (you have seen those, right?) was on the ground in front of the mirrored dresser where it had been sitting. He did that, but he waited for the wax to cool off before he did it, I never had to clean up the wax. He is a very considerate ghost, at least to me. I place a candle close to the mirror so it  throws light, and so it is not close to the edge where it could fall and make a mess or start a fire,  it was not close to the edge. It was moved.

Clara, a really far out old hippy lady who used to be a housekeeper years ago told me there had been a fire just a couple years after it was built in the 70’s. A man died in the fire.

The wing where the fire happened was where I was the year before. I had experiences down there too, but they were more frantic and not friendly, like the ghost felt threatened or something. Those were really scary stories, at least to me, that I will not go into, because there is no point in fear. The lights at that part of the building are always burning out and there are electrical issues.. and the door to one of the rooms, for some reason, always finds a way to get stuck closed. Either furniture falls in front of it, or a lock malfunctions, or a key gets broken in it. Always the same room. That was the room I was in the first year.

The next year, upstairs, once I talked to the guy he was OK with me. I think he knocked the candle over because he was trying to tell me what happened and who he was. I think he was a good guy in life, I hope he is ok and finds his way. There are a lot of lonely people walking around who have no one and no where to go. I do not know if that changes when we die.

Another thing is there are pictures on the walls in the banquet room. People are having very happy days in those pictures. For some of these people it could have been the happiest day of their life. Maybe it was a wedding or some other really lovely day for them. Maybe that is just where they want to hang out because it was a good memory for them and it beats whatever other options they have.

Everyone who is familiar with that giant archetypical haunted looking Hotel knows something is going on there. They hear the music turn on and the chairs and tables moving around in the defunct bar, they know about the dude who died in the fire, they all just know. When we see each other around we just give each other those knowing looks and weird smiles. No one really wants to talk about it I think. As I look back on it, you know, how hindsight is 20/20? I think everyone, or many people who knew I was a new person there, were just waiting for me to figure it out. It is a bizarre joint. But I really like it and i will never forget it. It is a special place. I hope they can all be a big, happy family, regardless of the dimension they reside in.

Being vibrologically sensitive can be a weird thing. We are conditioned all our lives to ignore it and suppress it, and there are just so many efforts, whether conscious and willful, or  subconscious and implied to keep those senses dulled. All I can say at this point is two things. 1, everything I wrote above is 100% honest, and not just a Halloween story. And 2, love is far stronger than fear.
